2024 Massanutten Trail Work Party
Last Saturday, 18 volunteers coordinated by the VHTRC help clear trails in the Massanutten Mountains. Together, we cleared 29.6 miles of trail, removed 56(!) trees, and contributed 140.5 hours of labor to our public lands.

The week before MMT, 22 volunteers from the VHTRC were busy preparing the Massanutten trails by clearing more than 23 miles of trail, removing dozens of trees, and contributed 164 hours of labor to our public lands. After the work party, several volunteers attended the Caroline Furnace Lutheran Camp Sun Pavilion Grand Opening, which the VHTRC also had a hand in making possible.

Chris Scott passed away Sunday after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 74. Chris was the genesis of the VHTRC. While Keith Knipling does not go that far back, he has been around long enough to have run with Chris and witness his magic, as well as hearing many stories. Chris was one of a kind and, without Chris, there would be no VHTRC.
